2022 In Review

As we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the achievements of 2022 at Bradley Van Der Straeten Architects.

This year, we were thrilled to complete The Judd, a deep retrofit, which was a massive undertaking and a great success. We also had the pleasure of working with some wonderful clients, including two families who moved into their dream homes just in time for Christmas.

We also shared some exciting new projects with our audience, including The Venetian Pantry, Lagom Hus, and Thornhill and started on some truly exciting projects, including;

– A Passivhaus new build home in Shepperton. This project is built on our extensive research on sustainable design, and our commitment to creating homes that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient.

– The transformation of a Listed Building townhouse in central Soho. We are excited to work on this project, which will involve updating and modernizing a historic building while still preserving its unique character.

– A renovation and extension of a beautiful property near Hampstead Heath. We are looking forward to bringing this property into the 21st century with an extensive transformation.

– A house in Chalk Farm, including a bespoke kitchen for a chef. We are excited to work on this project, which will involve creating a functional and beautiful kitchen space that meets the specific needs of a professional chef.

We welcomed Jake to our team. After spending over four years as a consistent, tight-knit unit of five, it was time to freshen things up and Jake is a very welcome and exciting addition.

We were honoured to win a British Home award for best transformation for Hawthorn House. We were also thrilled to see our projects featured in The Sunday Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Evening Standard, Grand Designs magazines, and many other publications.

We also successfully launched our BVDS Winter Workshops, which sold out within three hours and raised hundreds of pounds for Crisis this Christmas. Our bathroom showroom design, built to our healthy and sustainable principles, was launched at the CP Hart flagship showroom in Waterloo.

We had the opportunity to participate in some successful events, including discussing our healthy home principles at the London Festival for Architecture and being selected to talk at the RIBA about wellbeing in architecture.

Overall, it has been an amazing year for Bradley Van Der Straeten Architects. We are grateful to our clients and collaborators for their support, and we are looking forward to an even more exciting year ahead. Here’s to a great 2023!
